The human body has the ability to function at such a high level, that it requires no command of any kind from our conscious brains. The cells that we are made up of know when foreign and potentially harmful matter or substances have intruded our bodies, and immediately send synapses through our nervous system to quickly take care of these unwanted trespassers; a coat of slime will cover a shard of metal to prevent it from scratching the eye, the nose will congest to keep out dust and dander, the stomach will expel unfit foods by way of vomit, or other means. The body will even excrete excess keratin through its pores. However, the body has yet to develop a way to deal with built angst, indecision, conflict and other forms of unwanted emotion.
Lacrimo Speciman Samples is an exploration of what these feelings would look like in cellular form. They resemble a cross between malignant cells and parasites. There is more research to be done about these cells, most importantly, how to prevent them from invading the human body.
